THREE TIMES
in the last chapter of the Bible Jesus says, “And behold, I am coming
quickly..." He said that a LONG time ago...over 2,000 years. And He still
hasn't come? It helps to remember HE said that and therefore it is from HIS
perspective. Probably to the eternal mind 2,000 years isn't much. A day to the
Lord is as a thousand years and a thousand years but a day.
Meditate on these verses... 2 Peter 3:8 - 3:9:
Meditate on these verses... 2 Peter 3:8 - 3:9:
"But do not let this one fact escape your notice, beloved, that with the
Lord one day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years like one day.
The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient
toward you, not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to
repentance."
Also Psalm 90:4:
Also Psalm 90:4:
"For a
thousand years in Your sight
Are like yesterday when it passes by,
Or as a watch in the night.")
Are like yesterday when it passes by,
Or as a watch in the night.")
So, from His
standpoint it's only been a couple of days since He promised a soon coming, or,
He just said this like the day before yesterday. Poor mortal me, I can't even remember what I
ate two days ago. But God? He will keep His promise according to His frame of
reference. And His viewpoint and earthly time schedule are, of course, perfect.
So, be patient, my soul! And, remember, two days may qualify as "quickly."
